Description
The Flippydrive installs without any soldering, can be used with or without a disk drive, and fits neatly inside the cube itself with no case modifications completely preserving the appearance of the system.
Loads disk images via several common interfaces:
- uSD card, 1TB+ supported
- WiFi (experimental, support limited)
- Provisions for a future Ethernet add-on (in development ~September)
Other major features include:
- Very high degree of compatibility, including audio streaming
- No-solder install for use with or without OEM drive
- Real drive interface, no runtime software hacks or code injection needed (although can be used to enable region-free use and extra video modes)
- One-button disk passthrough when installed with OEM drive
- Backup games directly from the disc drive
- OTA software updates
- Rescue USB port to recover from any firmware brick
- 16MB internal Flash for DOL, homebrew, and update storage
- Stock-like disk selection UI using the open-source cubeboot patch framework, seamlessly adding new pages to your cube’s ROM menu
